2D Artist (Intern)

Job description

We are hiring on behalf of our client, an award-winning indie game development studio known for creating captivating PC and mobile games. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring 2D artists to showcase their creativity and contribute to visually stunning games

Responsibility

• Create high-quality 2D game assets, including characters, backgrounds, environments, icons, and UI elements
• Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure visual assets align with gameplay requirements
• Design concept art and storyboards for new game ideas and features
• Refine and polish art assets based on team feedback
• Maintain consistency in art style and ensure all assets follow the project’s artistic guidelines
• Optimize 2D assets for performance and compatibility across platforms
• (Optional) Use Substance Painter to create and refine textures for assets
• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques in 2D art for games

Requirement

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• A strong portfolio showcasing 2D artwork, including character, background, and environment designs
• Solid understanding of art fundamentals such as color theory, composition, and perspective
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
• Experience in creating assets for game engines like Unity
• A passion for art, design, and gaming
• Familiarity with Substance Painter is a plus
