We are hiring an experienced Game Designer – Live Operations to work on one of the world’s most successful mobile games. In this role, you will design live events, balance free-to-play systems, and deliver engaging content that keeps millions of players excited. This is a unique opportunity to combine game design expertise with live service operations while contributing to the future of augmented reality gaming.

Responsibility

• Design and optimize live operations gameplay systems for Pokémon GO to drive player engagement and retention.
• Develop one-page game design documents, event concepts, and live event content, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Communicate content requirements, workflows, and risks with producers, engineers, and artists.
• Work with internal teams and external IP stakeholders to ensure features align with brand guidelines and gameplay quality.
• Perform market research and player behavior analysis to deliver experiences that resonate with global and local audiences.
• Collaborate with product managers, marketing, and other game designers to create compelling live service content.
• Support live operations with troubleshooting and event monitoring to ensure smooth player experiences.

Requirement

• 7+ years of game design experience with a focus on live operations and mobile free-to-play games.
• Proven experience in content design and implementation, from concept through delivery.
• Strong knowledge of game balance, progression systems, and free-to-play economy design.
• Expertise in Excel / spreadsheets for game data analysis and live operations planning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across design, production, and engineering.
• Passionate gamer with a deep understanding of Pokémon GO, mobile games, and the Pokémon franchise.
• Previous experience on a top-grossing mobile game with a large daily active user base (DAU).
• Experience with AR game design, Unity development, or scripting/tools writing.
• Background in UI/UX design, art, programming, or audio for games.
• Strong passion for Pokémon GO and augmented reality games.
