Job description

Hiring a Lead 3D Character Artist who can Lead and mentor a team of 3D character artists, design characters, model, texture, and rig the characters, ensuring project quality and optimization and streamline the workflows to align with the game’s vision.

Responsibility

• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to a team of 3D character artists, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment
• Conceptualize, design, model, texture, and rig high-quality 3D characters for use in game environments, ensuring adherence to project requirements and artistic vision
• Utilize efficient low poly modelling techniques to optimize character assets for performance within game engines while maintaining visual fidelity
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of human and creature anatomy, ensuring anatomical correctness
• Review and refine the production pipeline for character creation, identifying areas for improvement, implementing best practices, and streamlining workflows to enhance efficiency and quality
• Conduct regular reviews of character assets to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to project deadlines, providing constructive feedback and guidance to artists as needed
• Collaborate closely with art directors, game designers, animators, and other team members to align character designs with overall game vision and narrative

Requirement

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Computer Animation, or related field
• Proven experience as a Lead 3D Character Artist with min 8+ years in the gaming industry
• Expertise in low poly modeling techniques and optimization for real-time rendering
• Strong understanding of human and creature anatomy, with the ability to create anatomically accurate 3D characters
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members
• Experience with team management, including task assignment, performance evaluation, and professional development
• Solid understanding of game development processes and pipelines, with a focus on character creation and integration
• A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality character artwork and demonstrating proficiency in relevant skills
