Rendering and Lighting Artist

Job description

We’re hiring an experienced Rendering and Lighting Artist with advanced Unreal Engine 5 expertise and strong compositing skills. This is an exciting opportunity to craft high-quality visuals for real-time game cinematics, trailers, and immersive in-engine experiences. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver polished lighting, rendering, and post-processing effects that elevate the cinematic storytelling in real-time pipelines.

Responsibility

• Design and implement real-time and cinematic lighting using UE5’s Lumen or Ray Tracing systems.
• Optimize lighting setups for performance and fidelity across multiple platforms.
• Export high-quality sequences using Sequencer and Movie Render Queue.
• Work with AOVs and Composure Plugin for render integration into post-production pipelines.
• Perform in-engine color grading, tone mapping, and post-processing using LUTs and Post Process Volumes.
• Collaborate with animators, VFX, and art teams to enhance cinematic visual quality.
• Identify and resolve rendering issues, shader complexity, and bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with compositing artists for external post work using tools like Nuke or After Effects
• Maintain lighting consistency across sequences and shots, aligned with the project’s art direction.

Requirement

• 5+ years of experience as a Rendering, Lighting, or LookDev Artist in games, cinematics, or film.
• Deep knowledge of Unreal Engine 5, including lighting systems, render workflows, and post-processing.
• Proficient with Movie Render Queue, Composure Plugin, and render pass management.
• Strong understanding of PBR workflows, HDRI setups, and Lumen lighting techniques.
• Solid compositing experience using Nuke, Fusion, or After Effects.
• Familiarity with ACES color space, LUTs, tone mapping, and cinematic grading workflows.
• Excellent visual storytelling, lighting composition, and color balance skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot performance issues and optimize real-time scenes.
