Senior Backend Engineer

Job description

We are looking for a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to lead the development of real-time backend systems for our iGaming platform. This role requires strong Node.js expertise, microservices architecture experience, and a passion for high-performance systems.

Responsibility

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Node.js and MongoDB with hybrid database models.
• Build secure, real-time APIs to support gaming features and multiplayer experiences.
• Create and maintain Node.js modules for Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs) for in-game integration.
• Develop systems to capture and process real-time in-game analytics and behavioral data.
• Implement microservices, session handling, caching, and leaderboard systems.
• Collaborate with frontend and game developers to define API contracts and workflows.
• Ensure code quality through clean coding, documentation, and automated testing.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and monitoring systems.
• Participate in technical planning and contribute to backend architecture decisions.

Requirement

• 6+ years of experience in full stack/backend development with a focus on Node.js.
• Expertise in Node.js, MongoDB, Express.js, and RESTful API design.
• Experience with real-time systems including WebSockets, Socket.IO, and multiplayer logic.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and server-side logic.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React.js and their integration with backend APIs.
• Knowledge of game engines like Unity or Cocos Creator is a strong plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Git, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with tools like Redis, RabbitMQ, and performance optimization techniques.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams.
• Bonus: experience with gamification, live ops dashboards, reward systems, or virtual economies.
