Technical Artist

Job description

We are seeking a passionate Technical Artist to join our gaming company. In this role, you will act as a vital bridge between the artists and engineers, ensuring a smooth collaboration throughout the game development process. You will be an integral part of the art team, working closely with artists, engineers, and product managers

Responsibility

• Collaborate with artists and engineers to enhance art production workflows, tools, and pipelines
• Manage asset organization and integration into the game while maintaining artistic vision and adhering to platform technical limits
• Develop and optimize shaders to enhance visual quality in our game
• Take ownership of any technical issues that arise during projects and drive them to resolution
• Ensure that all art assets are integrated seamlessly into the game, without compromising the artistic integrity
• Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to improve workflows and processes continuously

Requirement

• Good understanding of modeling, texturing, lighting, shaders, rendering, and post-processing techniques
• Passion for games and effective communication skills to collaborate with artists, engineers, and managers
• Proficient in 2D and 3D art tools, especially Maya and Photoshop
• Advanced knowledge of the Unity Game Engine
• Experience with asset optimization techniques and challenges
• Familiarity with creating normal and specular maps, particle systems, and shaders
• Ability to set up and maintain art production workflows, including tool and package selection, and exploring new techniques
• Comfortable working in a multi-platform and multi-project environment
• Good grasp of visual design principles, shape language, color theory, and lighting fundamentals
• Strong artistic skills and the ability to work with technical documentation
